TerraConcepts seeks Joint Fires Observer Instructors to provide Joint Fires Observer (JFO) and Tactical Air Control Party (TACP) instructional services in support of the Marine Corps' Joint Fires Observer Program.

Location(s) – School of Infantry – East (SOI-E), Camp Geiger, NC; School of Infantry – West (SOI-W), Camp Pendleton, CA

Background

The Marine Corps established the Combat Hunter Program so today’s warfighters that face unprecedented challenges in an increasingly complex and hostile world can better examine ways to minimize casualties while simultaneously increasing a Marine’s tactical cunningness. The Combat Hunter Program integrates enhanced observation, combat profiling, and combat tracking skill sets in order to produce a more ethically minded, tactically cunning, and lethal Marine; a Marine better prepared to succeed across the Range of Military Operations (ROMO). Combat Hunter is the only program in the world which utilizes real-time, eyes-on intelligence developed by the Marine ‘in theater’ to identify danger and create tactical alternatives leading to increased enemy lethality and increased coalition survivability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provide Tracking and Profiling Instructional Services for the Combat Hunter Trainer Course (CHTC), Intermediate Combat Hunter Course (ICHC) and other approved Advanced Infantry Training Battalion (AITB) approved Programs of Instruction (POI) with a Combat Hunter element.

2. Provide input to existing Combat Hunter curricula, and other AITB curricula that have a Combat Hunter element in accordance with NAVMC 1553.1A Marine Corps Instructional Systems Design/Systems Approach to Training and Education (ISD/SATE) Handbook.

3. Provide formal classroom instructional services at resident SOI-E and SOI-W sites.

4. Provide instructional services as part of a Mobile Training Team (MTT) conducting training at the requesting unit’s location.

5. Provide instruction and evaluation of Combat Hunter Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) under classroom, field, simulated and practical application training conditions.

6. Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness throughout all courses of instruction.

Other Skills and Requirements

1.   One (1) or more years of documented history as a formal Instructor in Marine Corps, Army or Navy schoolhouses (required).
2.   One (1) or more years as a profiling or tracking instructor (required).
3.   Working familiarity with Marine Corps training and education programs, processes and procedures (required).
4.   Successfully completed Marine Corps or Army or recognized civilian professional profiling and tracking course or school. Courses and schools included but not limited to: Basic Instructor Course, Basic Sniper Course, Army Advance Situational Course, Marine Corps Combat Hunter Instructor Course, David Scott Donelan Tracking School, etc. (required)
5.   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
6.   Physically fit. Capable scoring a 2nd Class score or better on both the Marine Corps PFT and CFT per MCO 6100.13 w/ch 1. (required) Note: A PFT and/or CFT may be administered as part of the interview process.
7.   Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook (required).
8.   Previous Instructional Design experience (desired).
9.   Experience with MCTIMS (desired)


Education – High School Diploma

Years of Experience – Required: 5 years of Marine Corps or Army;
Desired: 5+ years Marine Corps Infantry, Reconnaissance or MARSOC; Army Infantry, Ranger or Special Forces; or Naval Special Warfare

Citizenship – US

Travel – CONUS
